What is Voice Over IP (VoIP)?

VoIP is the technology used to transmit voice conversations over a data network using Internet Protocol. VoIP is an enabling technology which can deliver significant cost and efficiency benefits. VoIP technology has now matured to a level whereby it offers quality of service (QoS) comparable with normal digital voice telephony, and when administed and set up correctly  there will be no noticeable degradation, and no difference to a normal BT voice call.

By employing VoIP, multi site businesses who make calls between sites can virtually eliminate the cost of voice calls with no compromise on functionality. Remote workforces can have the same telephony features as those on the main site.

What is Computer Telephony Integration (CTI)?

One real benefit of converged solutions is that it is now possible for your pc network and your phone system to interact. Converged voice and data allows this to happen, radically improving your customer service.

Using simple tools, AbbiTek can set up ‘one click’ on-screen dialing (via soft phone & CRM Integration), call forwarding, teleconferencing, call recording, ‘pop up’ caller identification, call statistics and CRM database integration. As a result, the benefits for your business are numerous. By consolidating points of contact and data your business already has into one central communications system you can speed up and simplify your front office, streamline call handling, improve customer service and ultimately your bottom line.

What is Unified Messaging?

Unified Messaging offers businesses the opportunity to communicate internally and externally more effectively.

Unified messaging brings together a variety of message types in a single, easy-to-use interface. Unified messaging is typically referred to as the unification of two or more applications including voice mail, fax store-and-forward, and Email in a single, easy to use system. Typically,  Unified Messaging provides access to all received messages – voice, fax, and email–together, through either the telephone or computer.

When travelling, a telephone might be the easiest way to access messages, although a laptop computer or Web-browser could be used as well. When in the office, typically the email interface is used to manage and access voice, fax and email messages.

A study published recently, indicated that companies implement computer telephony products for a variety of reasons. Cost-savings ranked number three in a list of reasons why companies implement these types of systems.

Rated higher than cost savings were improved productivity and improved contact with existing/potential customers. Many businesses are combining their voice and data communications departments, and many have also found that a unified approach saves a great deal of time and effort in supporting their users.

AbbiTek believes that consolidating voice and fax messages in the email client is an essential step for any business who already have an email system, such as  Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Notes. Integration is a simlple process as interfaces are already built in.

Unified messaging will accelerate your business and improve productivity almost overnight. Giving you total control of your communications environment and positive return on investment.

AbbiTek provide a range of VoIP Integrated Communications Platforms which will improve the way your business communicates.
